Romancing
the Holidays
The
Holidays are a perfect time to share your feelings of love with
that special person in your life. What better way than to give
him or her that “perfect” romantic gift. These suggestions
are drawn from The Book
of Love, Laughter & Romance,
by Barbara and Michael Jonas.
- Set aside
a special evening. Prepare an invitation suggesting that your
partner put on something comfortable and meet you in the living
room or bedroom at a certain time. Beforehand, pick up a copy
of the romantic game An Enchanting
Evening®, Fan the Flames® or Romantic Sensations!®,
set up your favorite edibles and drinks, and when your partner
shows up, invite him or her to play a little game.
- Indulge
your senses . . . together, buy a book on massage and practice,
practice, practice!
- Create
your own Holiday star to wish upon – you and your partner
(separately) each write down 12 activities you’d like
to share with each other in the coming year, wrap them up, open
ONE each month for the next year and DO them.
- What’s
the Holiday Season without great things to eat? Take a Holiday
Cooking Class together and make something yummy.
- Buy a
sleeping bag for two - then camp out in front of the fireplace.
- Something
to last forever . . . arrange to have a “boudoir”
photograph taken of the two of you.
- What’s
your partner’s favorite animal? Buy a stuffed version
and don’t forget to point out how easy it is to take care
of.
- Create
your own romantic Holiday basket with “intimate”
items such as silky under things, massage oil, feathers, and
scented candles.
- Oh go
ahead . . . call in a song dedication to your favorite radio
program and make it really “romantic.”
- Share “The
Gift of Time” - give each other a “free” day.
You do all the errands and a house chore while your partner
indulges in guilt-free idleness. Then have your partner do the
same for you.
